Mission to Tijuana Mexico to Reduce Blindness from ROP in Premature Infants
Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is a serious retinal disease that can cause blindness in premature infants. The Wright Foundation help sponsor groundbreaking research demonstrating that use of physiologic low oxygen in very low birth weight premature infants can dramatically reduce severe retinopathy of prematurity. This video was taken on a medical mission to a neonatal intensive care unit in Tijuana Mexico to donate pulse oxymeters and educate the doctors on the use of physiologic low oxygen to treat very low birth weight premature infants.
